Swing Baby

Daniel loves being held. He wants me to cuddle him, kiss on him and  snuggle him up on my chest. I was so tired from doing the laundry yesterday that I could not carry him.

 I placed the young man in his swing and he gave me that look like "mommy you joking right". I gave a look back that says, " no, I am not joking son, you are swinging tonight".

He was quiet for a while swinging and ten minutes into the process, he was yelling. Yelling with all his energy. I thought an ant stung him, the nurse and I quickly took him out of the swing.

He stopped crying immediately and gave us the sweetest smile almost a laugh. Unbelievable.!

He won this round!

New Phone

I stay away from New technology, software or even gadgets. I was one of the last people to join Facebook, if not the last. I still do not have Instagram, Twitter, Pin interest, Blackberry pinging, watssup and all the good stuffs.

We now live in a world where keypads on phone is considered obsolete or even wearing Bluetooth is not cool no more. Now you can easily listen in into another person's conversion because his speaker phone is on.  Or even laugh at a joke that was not meant for you. Incredible.

Well, since my gigantic  phone

broke, and I have no keypads on it, I got the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.  Yes!

I am so loving this phone,  cool apps and all.   I am like a little kid in a candy store with my gadget.
I guess I can join Twitter now because tweeting is my  mind! Lol.

Brochures and Manuals

We were given a lot of brochures and manuals to study and learn from. Topics ranging from car seat to bathing, sleeping, choking, home safety and etc.

I am still studying them. I guess Daniel will be home soonest.

Have a great Sunday.

CPR

Daddy and I attended a CPR class from 6pm to 8pm yesterday. We were ordered by Daniel's doctor to take it before his discharge from the hospital. CPR is Cardio Pulmunary Resuscitation. A very needed skill for every new parent or even for adults. It saves life before help arrives.

We were about 30 parents in the class and it was all fun learning. We got our certificate and was given to Daniel nurse for photocopy. We followed Doctor's orders.

To do  an Infant (0-12 months) CPR,  tap the baby and if he/she does not respond, transfer to a HARD surface like a table and start CPR immediately.

It is a 3 step process.

Hope this diagrams  guide you through.

Porridge Yam

This porridge yam is $10  and yummy. It is a melt in your mouth sensation. A delicious delight that  enlightens and  inspire the taste buds.

A culinary masterpiece of a Yoruba woman with skills. A wonderful stomach filler.

I must stop now because I have a duty to perform. I am sitting on the floor for this one.

Wish me Bon Appetite!

Foot Prints.

When I was a teenager, my dad bought a glass  frame with a photo of a single foot print in the sand and a wonderful prayer in it.
The inspirational paragraph goes like this

Footprints Prayer

Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream...
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before us,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
There was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way;
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me.
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
                                                         ~~~~~~
I used to read that inspirational poem everyday, I love it and still love it.
However, yesterday we did some footprints on Daniel for his birth records.
The process reminded me that we are not alone. We were carried.
Busy Friday
I am going to be extremely busy today. I have two doctors appointments. One with my Rheumatologist  and another with my Hematologist.  They are in the same building.
I will see the Rheumatologist at 1 pm and the Hematologist at 2.40 pm.  It is going to be a lot of blood drawings,  getting checked, poked, breath in and out and all the fun stuff. Lol
I will be leaving there to Daniel's hospital and staying for like 4 hours to allow traffic  decogestion.
It is going to be a fun day, hope you have fun too.  I am jumping in the shower now. Bye.
Level 2
We got transferred from level 3 to level 2 yesterday. I was at home watching  Investigation Discovery channel  when my phone rang." Your son has been transferred to level 2, his condition is stable and he will be alright". The doctor concluded.
I panicked!
I did not know how to react. I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy because we are getting closer to going  home. Sad because we just stepped out of our comfort zone.
I quickly finished my chores and rushed down there. He still had his private room but different nurses.  The nurse last night was nice, she bathed him but I fed him.
We played, sang, and he refused to go  back to  bed. I had to beg him.
Eating.
At this moment, Daniel calories had been lowered to 22. He used to be on higher calories because he was premature.  22 calories signifies huge improvement and ability to cope at home.
Right now is on Similac NEOSURE, 22 calories. Already mixed. just shake, open, add a nipple and voila! Daniel eats.
It has been a pleasurable experience feeding my son, the looks he gives me makes my eye watery. But when that baby bulps,   I spray air freshiner ASAP.
Saying Thanks.
When the Daniel's doctor called me yesterday that Daniel might be going to level two soon, I was excited.
Right now Daniel is in NICU level 3 ; the place where critical babies stay.
While NICU level 2 is a nursery for stable babies  and they get discharged from there.
Well after the call I went into a thankful mood. I have to say thanks to people that have become part of my daily life for the past 3 to months.
 The nurses especially.  I bought cards that spoke my heart and I hope they know how sincere and greatful I really am.
Some nurses did a lot more than others but I appreciated them anyways. Life goes one. My life has been a fast roller coaster and jumping off  was not  an option due to thier contribution; big or small.
Beautiful Day
I went out early this morning for my flu shot and to get my blood drawn for labs. It was beautiful outside.
The weather was not too hot or cold just gorgeous. The kind of day that wanna make you wear a bikini and run along the beach. Yes that kinda day.
I know I will be arrested if I ever attempt a bikini, so let me respect myself . Lol
I will just sit outside and enjoy the weather.
