I duff my hat to all bloggers, writers, and anyone working in printing or media. It is not an easy job or hobby.

I studied Technical writing in college and was almost failed for my use of British English in essays.

Words like Favour is favor. Colour is color.

Thank God for a good and understanding Prof. He understood my predicament and referred me to the school  library to borrow an American dictionary.  It helped.

I am not perfect but I can confidently tell you, I mommy blog in American language.

Does that make me Bilingual?  Maybe!

Thanksgiving Party.

Taking the  kids out is not an easy venture. You have to bathe them, dress them up and do all the extra beautifying things.

After that,  you will have to bathe and beautify your own self. Then as you are ready to bolt out the door, one of them will want  to weeeeeeee!

While helping one to weeeeeee, the other one starts to cry for food. Then you wash your hands and start feeding the other.

And when you finally finish feeding  the one crying for food and look up, the first one has stained her clothes with a permanent marker. And on and on and on.

By the time you finally makes it out of ths house, you will be looking like a homeless woman with babies.

Enough ranting.

We went to a family friend' house for Thankgiving dinner.  I was scolded for lateness. But we had fun!

Happy Thanksgiving

It is is Thanksgiving day!  A day set aside to Thank God! I have all the reasons to celebrate today.

All the reasons to be overjoyed and jumping off the roof.

I Thank God Almighty for all his blessings!  I  am amazed everyday  by his good works. 

I did not order the turkey on time yesterday so, I am grilling chicken and beef ribs.

Meat is meat.

Y all remain blessed and have fun.

A day Before

It is a day before thankgiving and we are running out of supplies and food!

Dana and I will be going shopping while the Boys stay home.

I am really craving for some Restuarant fried fish but I might just have to do it myself. Not forgetting the turkey and all the ceremonious cooking tommorow.

I am not baking or grilling any Turkey tommorow.  No! Not I.

 I will be  ordering one from Luby's.  My time is highly limited these days.  99% time allocation to miss Dana and mr  Daniel.

Happy Thanksgiving in  advance!

Night fears.

I have night fears. I am not talking  about sundown syndrome or night terrors. I am talking about Mr Daniel.

When it is 7 pm everyday, Daniel starts to show signs of restlessness.  Just worming( my word) his whole body and trying to scratch his face. Doing everything to cry or yell. 

I immediately get his warm water bath ready . Gather all his supplies and especially his food!

After his bath,  I feed him, burp him even before wearing his diaper.  Yes! He is that impatient. 

He goes to sleep. Then wakes up at 9pm or theresbout and cry for like an hour. He refuse food, pacifier,  anything.

However, yesterday,  I took my time in dressesing him up after his bath.  Did not let him nap. No food either.  Just played with him.

When I finally gave him his food, he slept off. It was like a miracle. Pheew.

Empty house

The house is empty without you. We miss you sister. Safe journey to Nigeria.

Dana went to check your room twice

believing you will magically appear.

We love you and appreciated all your good works.

Muaaaah!

Pills

I was not always a pill taker. I remember how my mother used to hold me down for  malaria pills. It was always a disaster. 

A lot of crying, vomitting and a cane or koboko (whip). Sometimes a slipper ready to slap my bumbum. Such a horrible ceremony for a pill.

Fast forward to now. I am a professional Pill taker but I must not taste it.  That is why I use orange juice or milk.

My medications has been reduced from four times a day to twice a day.

I still take up to six to seven pills at a time and most are usually BP meds.

I am getting better every day and I thank God.

Mommy Time

I was so exhausted mentally last night from stress that I decided to take a mommy time.
All the stress of tending to others and forgetting myself.

 Exhaustion from constant sound of mommy, mommy, mommy from Dana and aaaaaarging from Daniel 24/7.

I needed a break. A big break!

I ran out of the house into the cold winter night. Jumped into the car and drove off.  Drove around for some minutes and found a nice restuarant .

I bought a snack and a drink and enjoyed the view of the freeway. Sipping my drink miserly. In no rush.

Is that my phone  ((((((ringing))))))) 

*ignore*. 

I instructed them on how to dial 9.1.1 for emergencies. 

Read a magazine for an hour and returned home refreshed, full and sleepy.

I am thinking if doing this everyday. It helps!

Not Ready

I cannot believe today is November 22nd and in few days it will be Thankgiving (Turkey day) on the 28th.

 I am not ready.

I am not ready for Black friday.
I am not ready for christmas.

Lord! Help me to be ready.

Dana Update

Dana have been doing great in school, so good she gets happy faces!

Everything has been going well because we discuss.  I give credits to Inkmama for that tip.

However, on tuesday her report said " Hit another student".

I was blown away. Not goooood. I was tempted to yell and do all ceremonious you must repent today moves but I listened to my inner voice-  we discussed.

Stella: why did you hit another person, did I not tell you that you cannot touch anybody.

Dana:  * crying face* he said it was my fault.

Stella: fault for what?

Dana: * now crying* He said it was my fault for my paper .

Stella: * getting  Fustrated and changing

Stella: was the student a boy or a a girl?

Dana; A boy ! Mummy, a boy wearing a WHITE BODY!

Stella: *shocked face*

Stella: *regained composure* you do not do that or say that. OMG.

Stella: go and write
"I will never hit another person  100 times NOW!

Birds

I have been at walmart all day. Shopping for the family.

I kept hearing a sharp sound and It  became my mission to investigate the sound.

Found a black bird hanging on Walmart's roof.

  I excitedly reported to an Associate and he said  okay.

I quietly checked out and left.

Old Friends.

I ran into an old friend yesterday at an African grocery store.  We were kinda close but we grew apart for some reason.

She was angry with me and I was mad at her for not looking for me and vice vice versa.

After scolding ourselves. We hugged and exchanged numbers. An hour later, we were bonding on the phone, catching up.

I missed her Akamu and moin moin. Nice African breakfast.
