My Faith

One thing I am so happy about is that no Man of God or church can lay claim to our healing.

I would have forever been indebted to man rather than God.

During those trying times, my faith and my eyes looked up to heaven and heaven alone.

The reason I am writing this is because my sister was shocked beyond comprehension that I was zzzzzzzz off  on sunday.

Sorry sister, my faith  is stronger than ever before even when I sleep.

Cheers!

Yesteryears!

This is a story I had on Nairaland!

This story was when I was about  9 or 10 years old. We were living in a very poor area  in Benin city with poor schools.  This story depicts  a day in a life of an average Nigerian kid.

Enjoy it.

Sorry for the cut off part. I just copied and pasted from my original post.

I was in primary 4 and my mother fed us beans and Akamu for breaksfast. Everyone dispatched to school and my parents to work to work. About 2 hours later, my stomach was roaring, poopoo was negotiating.

I excused myself from class to school latrine.
The worst site ever. There was poopoo everywhere even before you walk in the door, the smell had my nose in a coma.
Anyways, our face me-I face you apartment was like five minutes away. So I started to jog to get there faster. Bad combination!

Immediately I started, I felt some warm liquid in my pants. So I slowed down the pace. Na lie...more liquid escaping.  Chai! I started to run very fast now and by this time the liquid was flowing down my legs and those giant flies with loud speakers were racing with me.
I raced passed an old lady, she thought it was a dog pursuing me, she started to run. No time to explain. My stomach was hurting and the liquid was gushing now. I was sprinting fast and crying now.

When you are in trouble, your house seems to move further away from you. Every step was excruciating. I never stopped.

By this time, I was racing fast, crying and not forgetting the flies. When I finally got home, there was no need for toilet. All the beans was in my pant. Kai.

We never had beans and Adamu in the morning because my mom had to wash my uniform.

Thinking back now, I could have stopped in on of the 30 houses I passed. Childhood!

sneaky

Whenever Dana gets home from school, the first thing I check is  her communication folder for miss Butler note.

Last Friday,  I saw daddy carrying sleeping Dana into her room. I was surprised because Dana never ever sleep. It takes the whole family including Daniel to convince and beg Dana to sleep every night.

Well here is the conversation;

Mommy: why are you you carrying Dana?

Daddy: she is tired and sleeping
Mommy : was she sleeping in her classroom?

Daddy:  no.  She just fell asleep in the car.

Mommy: let me see her bag for miss butler note. *READING*

Daddy: what did the note say?

Mommy: it is a GOOD note. Miss Butler said she did well.

* Dana jumped up and started dancing and singing.

Dana: it is a good note oooooooooh × 10.

* Daddy = shocked.
* Aunty = laughing
* Mommy = shaking my head and lmao.

Free

When Daniel was at the NICU, I wore a white plastic identification wrist band  everyday.

Some people took theirs off and put it in their purses but I never took mine off. It was a sign of my personal struggle. A connection between my son and I. Our struggle!

Well yesterday,  my Hematologist, Dr Cairo was given the honor to cut my band and to signify that my struggle was over at the NICU. She gladly obliged.

Dr Cairo is a brilliant young Doctor  who made sure I was medically  sound before I was  discharged.  She is extremely funny and kind. She is like a friend.

Love her.

*my sister took the pictures.

Alarm Clock

I have always had alarm clock on my phone for work or appointment reminders. As of recent, they are all discarded because I  have acquired a natural,  authentic and precise one.

My new alarm clock is so loud.
My new alarm clock is  ever on time.
My new alarm clock is always on point.
My new alarm clock is programmed to work best.
My new alarm clock works every 15 mins, 25mins and 1 hour.

My alarm clock is Daniel.

See his pictures at 3AM this morning!

Monster F250....

My mom and I invested in this 2003 Ford Monster truck  in 2011 and my money is still neatly tied up in that truck.

With two kids looking up to me everyday, I am needing my money back, mom.

Everybody is a car dealer in Benin city so please take the truck to Port Harcourt or Lagos. I have to say it through this blog because mommy Stella is not smiling.

Love you mom.

No Gift.

I was trying to organise all the Paperwork from the hospital when I discovered Dana's gift. The hospital gave me a bag of gift to give to Dana during her brother's hospitalization.

They said the package will help her deal with his absence from home.

The package has a froggie, a picture book, coloring book a framed picture of her NEWBORN brother.

She is still not getting it yet until she start acting right everyday at school.  Not 3 days good and 2 days of tanturums.

Putting it back in the closet.

Crib Not.

Daniel has been refusing to sleep in his crib. He did okay the first week but on the second week,  I was having sleepless night.

SOLUTION?

Transferred him to our bed with all his beddings and pillows. Which means that he is just an arm away.

I sleep well now. We had to kick Daddy out of the bed to the couch.

Sorry Daddy, A new sherriff is in town.

Lol

landlord.

Taking care of Daniel is not an easy fit. I thank God he was not a twin.

Babies are demanding.  Even with help from his daddy and my sister,  I am still exhausted.

I am beginning to learn his  ways. I sleep when he sleeps, eat when he eats and even cry when he does.  Lol

My name is Stella and my life has been hijacked by a baby.

Have a great day y all!

He is sleeping, so I go zzzzzzz....

Colder

The weather is steadily changing over here. It is getting colder by the minute.  I even had to turn the heater on yesterday night.

Then the place  got too warm.  Then I had to turn the AC back on. It was back and forth all night until I got sick.

I got so sick  around 4am from lack of sleep, fatigue and all the changes in my life.

Thank God for Daddy and my sister. I took a loooooong nap  for the first time in two weeks.

I am blessed.

Family Time

Yesterday was family outing day. We went to a mall. In that mall, they have two great playing areas for kids.

We stopped at the Castle theme one and let Dana play. She loooooved it. Played for about an hour until she fell.

We had some food and went home. Daniel slept through most of it.

We all had collective fun.

Enjoy our pictures.
