Today

Today was a kinda of day that began very serene and nice. That early morning quietness at 5am. When nobody else is awake and you can actually hear yourself breathe.

I need more days like these and I am making plans for many of those days.

All I need is money and prayers.

Help me lord.

( I speak in riddles. One day, I will reveal).

And if I had that kind of money, I would have private jetted to a quiet island and just sip on some mommy juice watching the ocean. Lol.

I will never stop giving thanks for everything because I am was given so much opportunities to be here.

Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.

Today made it a year since I started blogging about my life experiences.

I was so loaded with worries that I need an avenue to vent,  to laugh,  to cry, to celebrate and to meet like minded people.

I sincerely thank everyone that came here. Everyone that prayed for us and everyone  that celebrated with us.

How things can change in a year. How light can come at the end of the tunnel.  How sadness can become joy.

Even with our daily triumphs, trials and tribulations,  we are grateful to God almighty. The TRUE God that saw  us through it all.

Thank you all and may joy and laughter never depart from your homes.

Amen.

AmeriCANa

His dad and I have been putting off  getting Daniel's passport for so long. He finally booked the appointment and we had to get it done today.  Appointment time was 1pm to 3pm at our local post office.

I got the kids ready and shining  by 10am, got them fed, and ready for the day.

We got there early and gave the lady our paperwork. She looked through them and said where are the passport photographs?  Their dad gave me that look like " I TOLD YOU".

I did not wait for him to say it, I went "I know, I know I know" and he laughed.

2 weeks ago, When the appointment was made, the phone lady told us that they can take his passport photo at the post office. I believed but daddy wanted us to bring some backup, just in case. Well, we did not bring any.

The post office lady sent us away to get it and come back. Off we went on an adventure for another hour. Finally found a Walgreen that their machine was working with a patient photographer.

Daniel refused to stand still or look at the camera. It took me, his dad, Dana and some passersby to distract Daniel.

We came back to the post office and all went well.

Welcome the the latest official AmeriCAN.

Thank God for little miracles and huge ones.

Violators

Ok let's talk about Raymond Frolander. Do you know him? Well he is the news lately. He is 18 years old and was almost beaten to death by a family friend .

The gist is that a father left his 11 years old son with Raymond Frolander to baby sit and by the time he came back, Raymond was positioning to sexual penetrate/rape  his SON.

He beat Raymond to a state of unconsciousness and then called 911.

I cannot fault the father of the 11 years old boy for reacting the way he did considering the fact that I hate jungle justice/ violence.

Some people deserves  instant justice due to the nature of their crimes. E.g  child molesters.

Child molesters to me are the worst people in this world because they lurk around and pounce on the innocence of children and violate them. They are everywhere and anywhere watching out for innocent children.

The Raymond frolanders of this world deserves to be put away and rehabilitated somewhere. I just cannot deal. I can't.

When they asked the dad if he used any weapon, he replied...."my fists and my feet". Hahahahahaha!

May God protect our innocent children from all the Raymond Frolanders, Amen.

What would you do if you found a RAY FRO in your home????

Victims

When we were younger, my mother started traveling with a group of women to Village markets to buy large quantities of foodstuffs. Large quantities of yams, tomatoes, peppers, etc. she told me it was very profitable then.

But as the keepers of my siblings I used to wait and wait and wait for her. We have a dad who was constantly on the road( job). So, it was just me and my siblings watching the road for hours and hours into the midnight.  Sometimes, our kind neighbors will sit and wait with us. No cell phone era.

The feeling of seeing her being dropped off was the best sight ever. The best feeling for any kid waiting for a loved one, a mother. But one day we waited like forever and went to sleep without her. My heart was breaking but sleep won.  She came home the following day and never went back to that business or left us alone that long again. I thought she saw our tears all dried up on our little faces.

She later explained to me that their lorry/ truck had an accident and the truck started rolling backwards and backwards and backwards and then stopped abruptly. They were on the bridge and the truck was stopped by a guard rail.

My mom and other women were seating at the back of the lorry/truck and they were all gonna roll into the Okwaheir River. They were saved. She got spooked and quit. We could have lost our mother that day.

My heart goes out to the families of the recent plane crash,  missing planes, war and everyday loss of loved ones.

Prayers.

July Rely.

July last year, I was still at the hospital just recuperating.  After a while of being at the hospital, I did not want to leave.

Not just for the good food. Yesssssss good food! Their food was delicious and I could order breakfast,  lunch and diner. Nice gourmet food.  Okay, enough about food.

I was scared to leave the hospital because of fear of the unknown. I believed that staying in there will make me okay. And the day I was discharged, I cried.

I was frightened.  Did not sleep for days. Had all my medicine close by and my phone ready to dial 911.

I wanted to be on my hospital bed were doctors and nurses resided. I wanted to rely on them forever.

However,July 2014, I am free and happy. Taking life easy and enjoying one day at  a time with my family.

Thank God for life.

Arts

Last night the kids and I drove around for an hour.  We checked out the local YMCA for swimming lessons for Dana but she wanted Ballet.

A reading kid can be a great hassle sometimes.  They read everything and nothing is hidden from them.  Thank goodness the ballet session was over.

Ballet is good but swimming will save your life.  After two weeks of swimming,  we will do ballet, I negotiated with her.

She agreed. We had a deal!

Then we went to one of our favorite spots. $1 stores. Bought a lot with $20.  And we did arts and crafts today.

Parenting takes a lot of coordination and strategies. It is just Like managing or running a fortune 500 company.

Maybe I can apply for a managerial job with Google.  Experience?  Managing 2 kids. Lol.

Thanks goodness for our innate parenting skills.

Y'all stay well.

Pair

I try to give the kids 2 nice showers everyday. 1 in the morning and 1 at night, 95% of the time.

But there are some days, I just let them be or to be sincere,  let me be.

I did not know it takes a lot of preparation to bathe children. Well, it does.

Daniel had a big poop today, I just had to bathe him. Yes, that kinda of poop that has no solution but soap and water. Hmmmm.

After the bath, I  dressed him up and voila he was ready for the day. Well, not quiet.

Both legs were in short hole/ outlet. Lol.
I had to takes pics because I was trying to stand him up and he kept on  sliding.

Funny moments.

Let us learn how to laugh in silly moments.
